NO SCHOOL — Thursday, March 12 & Friday, March 13
Dear KSD 111 Staff and Families,
Due to the significant damage and impact from the sudden tornado and severe storm, Kankakee School District 111 will not have school on Thursday, March 12, and Friday, March 13. This closure will allow time for our staff, families, and community members to address immediate needs and begin recovery.
Please note the following during this time:
- All schools and district programs will be closed.
- No transportation will be provided for any additional programs.
- Childcare services will also be closed.
- The Festival of Band will be postponed, and a new date will be determined and shared at a later time.
- The District is unable to send the KJHS group to the Spring Games at ONU on March 12. However; we look forward to creating an alternative option (in house) later in the spring!
Additional communication will be shared soon regarding:
- A central donation drop-off location for community needs such as water, non-perishable food, hygiene items, and other essentials.
- Meal support for families during this time.
Students who attend KACC may attend if able; however, transportation will not be provided by the district at this time.
We will continue to keep you informed as more information becomes available.
Thank you for your patience, support, and care for one another during this difficult time.
Take care and stay safe.
Sincerely,
Dr. Teresa A. Lance
Superintendent
Kankakee School District 111
